WHAT TO WEAR

This depends on the time of year, water temperature, and weather. As a rule of thumb, we hope for the best but prepare for the worst.  We recommended that you do the same, and dress for the water temperature, rather than the air temperature, as any river trip presents the possibility of getting wet.  For every trip, we recommend you bring a bathing suit or pair of shorts to wear under your wetsuit.

In colder conditions and high water, a wetsuit and booties will add greatly to your comfort, and will always be provided upon request.  We also provide nylon rafting jackets to ward off spray.   Please bring a fleece top or long sleeve wool garment to wear on the river (this will go under or over your wetsuit, whatever is more comfortable).  You will also want to bring an additional cotton sweatshirt or fleece jacket to put on after the trip.

• Sandals don’t offer much protection, and tend to come off easily in a swim, so we recommend booties, river shoes, or tennis shoes.
• Sunglasses, especially prescription glasses, should have a strap, available at our store, or other retainer that cinches tight.
• Use sunscreen, but don’t put it on your forehead or the backs of your legs. It can run into your eyes, or cause you to slip in the boat.
