OUR BASE CAMP & OFFICE – THE RIVER SOURCE HEADQUARTERS!
River Source was founded in 2001, by Jason Matthews. Jason had worked for several years as a rafting guide around the Northern Rockies and had worked as a manager of one of the largest rafting companies in the region. Not content with the experiences he felt that large raft companies provided, he decided to go out on his own, so he could share his passion for rivers, mountains, and wildlife in a more relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
The River Source experience is the culmination of Jason’s 18 years as a professional guide. Every detail of our trips, our location, and our services has been carefully thought out to insure that you will have the most memorable experience possible!
The River Source Experience- Share the Passion!
There are four specific components that make the River Source experience special. First, the stretch of river we run- Yankee Jim Canyon. We are proud to be the only outfitter that exclusively runs the canyon. If you book a whitewater trip with River Source you can be assured that you will be seeing the best scenery and the biggest rapids that the Yellowstone River has to offer.
Second, our location: River Source Rafting is located on the banks of the Yellowstone River. Our office is the put-in for our raft trips. Step out of our office and just a short walk away your raft awaits you. There is no shuttling in buses to get to the river. Also, we are the only raft company in the area that has our own private, secure parking lot. Our office and river center is a beautiful place to spend time- show up early before your trip, or stay after your experience and sit on our deck over the river. Use our picnic tables and spotting scope to look for wildlife and just watch the river flow. The mountain view from our back deck is unbelivable! Our location isn’t merely an office- its an oasis.
The third essential ingredient of the River Source experience is our guiding staff. We are professional outdoorsmen and women who work in the field year-round. All of our guides are certified in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and Swiftwater Rescue. All of our staff lives in Montana year-round! The average age of our guides is 35, and they have an average of 6 years of professional guiding experience. Our guides strive to make your trip the highlight of your vacation.
The fourth and final component of the River Source experience is a true River Source Rafting exclusive and is brand new for the 2011 season. We have waterproof, portable boat video cameras, and helmet cams for filming your adventure! All of the footage will be available for you and your family to watch, own, and share.
